…and then on to China to oversee development of my new Perspex and steel collection! A big contrast from the madding crowds in Tokyo to the organised precision of the moulding factory, the whizzing of the machines in the tool shop and the smell of steel being cut and shaped – a labour of love for me and the shape of some truly cool things to come next year…

So…its November which must mean its Tokyo! How FAB and how inspiring!! The thing I love most is the attention to detail and the fact that everything is about QUALITY. I love the food, the people, the humour and the way it is all on the one hand so organised and other the other hand so chaotic. Also I love the fact that my ultimate design hero Christopher Dresser took his inspiration from Japanese design – I felt like I was treading ever so slightly in his footsteps…

October 13th and I’m in New York for a week to set up my first US showroom! The space a tad bigger than anticipated and the walls a bit bare, so nothing for it but to ‘go graffiti’! Fortunately the showroom managers seemed to approve (and the buyers and press loved it) so could be a new presentation theme – always fancied being a graffiti artist!
Next stop Tokyo / Hong Kong / China end November…
